SA Cam - Privacy Policy

  • SA Cam records video using your camera and microphone. That's it — there's no account, no sign-up, and nothing about you is sent to us.
  • Everything the app does — color grading, LUTs, the waveform monitor — happens on your phone. Nothing is uploaded anywhere unless you personally choose to share or stream it.
  • Location is only ever added to a video if you turn that on yourself. It's off by default.
  • We don't run analytics, ad tracking, or any third-party data-collection tools in this app.


What the app accesses on your device

SA Cam asks for a small number of permissions, each used only for the specific feature it's named for:


Camera & microphone

Required to record video and audio. This is the app's core function — without it, there's nothing for SA Cam to do.


Photo library

Used to save your recordings into a "SA Cam" album, and — if you choose to import a custom logo or a color-grading LUT file — to read the file you pick. SA Cam only touches what you explicitly select or what it saves there itself; it doesn't browse the rest of your library.


Location (optional, off by default)

SA Cam can embed your location into a recording's own file metadata, the same way most cameras and the built-in Camera app tag photos with GPS coordinates. This only happens if you turn on "Include Location in Video" yourself in Settings — it's off until you choose otherwise, and the location data is written into the video file on your device, never sent to us.


Motion & orientation

SA Cam reads your phone's accelerometer to detect when you physically turn it sideways — used to rotate on-screen elements like the waveform monitor and live-stream indicator so they stay readable. This data is read in real time and never stored or transmitted.


Your recordings

Every video you shoot is processed entirely on your device and saved to your own Photos library. SA Cam does not have a server, does not upload your recordings anywhere on its own, and cannot access your videos once they're saved — the app has no way to reach back into your Photos library without you opening it again.


Sharing & streaming features you control

SA Cam includes a few features that send a video somewhere else — every one of them only runs when you deliberately choose to use it, and only to a destination you pick:

  • Instagram Stories — uses Instagram's own official sharing mechanism to hand your video to the Instagram app. SA Cam never sees or stores your Instagram account details, and the video goes directly from your device to Instagram's app, not through us.
  • System share sheet — the standard iOS "Share…" panel, which lets you send a recording to any other app on your phone (Messages, Mail, another camera app, etc.), same as sharing a video from Photos.
  • Live streaming (RTMP) — if you enter a streaming server address and key, SA Cam sends your live video feed directly to that server. That server is one you choose (for example, a service like Vimeo or a personal streaming setup) — we don't operate any streaming server ourselves and never see this footage.


What we don't collect

SA Cam has no user accounts, no login, and no backend server that stores information about you. Specifically, the app does not include:

  • Analytics or usage-tracking SDKs
  • Advertising networks or ad identifiers
  • Crash-reporting services that transmit data off your device
  • Any mechanism to sell or share your information with third parties, because none is collected in the first place


Storage & deletion

Your settings, saved presets, and LUTs are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage (UserDefaults and your app's local file storage) — never synced to any server we control. Deleting SA Cam from your device removes all of this along with it. Your recorded videos live in your Photos library independent of the app, so removing SA Cam does not delete videos you've already saved there.


Children's privacy

SA Cam is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them — in practice, because the app doesn't collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age.


Changes to this policy

If SA Cam's features change in a way that affects this policy, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above. Since the app has no way to contact you directly, please check back here if you have concerns after an app update.
